In conjunction with a lot of patience & consistency, you can see a new head of hair in as little as six months. Get to know your hair, then get to know our products & let’s create magic.

Here's some important information to know before embarking on your loc journey.

Neglecting your locs comes with it's own problems, but too much maintenance also causes it's share of often irreversible damage. Over twisting the hair puts excessive stress on the roots, causing massive breakage & can ultimately lead to traction alopecia.

Locs are twisted in the same direction they start in. Each loctician has his/her method for twisting, repeatedly changing the direction of the twist will ultimately cause bubbles & then break off.

Tension from interlocking to the point of pulling the scalp can also lead to breakage, thinning & like every other issue, locs popping off. In the starter loc stage, your loctician instructs you to twist daily & maintenance them every 1-2 weeks. However, once your hair locs you need 2-3 weeks between maintenance appointments, this allows the freshly twisted hair time to loc. Once your locs are fully budded, maintenance once a month is sufficient. Just as with any other process, you have to find a balance - YOUR balance. Your hair isn't the same as anyone else's, so your routine, products, maintenance & treatment schedule won't be. Find your loctician & trust the process!

Your hair should be washed & twisted/tightened at least once a month, some hair textures manage to go 6-8 weeks between maintenance. When our schedules get busy, most of us will skip out on our self-care routine to make sure things get done.

As your hair grows & sheds, the loose hairs from your gather inside the loc adding to its strength. Not twisting your hair regularly causes that hair to fall out & grow away from the locs, which is the leading cause of thinning at the base of the loc. This causes the base of the loc to thin out, which leads to locs popping off. On the same token, skipping retwists also cause bubbles in your locs. Bubbles come from new growth that was not twisted or was twisted in the wrong direction.

This is why it's important to stick with one loctician.
